BLS Upper-Level Course Work
The Bachelor of Liberal Studies degree requires 30 semester hours (s.h.) of upper-level credit.
Course numbers 3000 to 4999 are considered upper-level for undergraduate students. For a detailed explanation of the UI course numbering system please see Course Numbering System.
Completion of BLS Track curriculum (Expression in Writing and Arts; Family, Community and Social Support; Global Studies; Health and Human Studies; Justice and Ethics; Organizational Studies) provides for a minimum of 18 s.h. of upper-level credit. Any upper-level course counts towards the required 30 s.h. including transfer courses, courses taken to satisfy Common Core general education requirements, electives and courses towards optional certificates.
