Advising
The BAS/BLS Advising Team extends the University of Iowa to online learners across the state of Iowa and beyond.
We work to strengthen and support the exploration of educational goals, the development of the whole person, including the potential and unique nature of each student.
All BAS and BLS students are assigned an academic advisor. Your academic advisor provides support through regular contact with you, from orientation through graduation.
Your advisor helps you explore various fields of interest and develop plans of study appropriate for their educational goals. They also refer you to other campus offices for assistance when needed such as financial aid.
Contact your advisor when you:
- have questions about graduation requirements or certificate programs
- want to plan a schedule for the next semester or create an academic plan
- have questions about the registration process or are preparing to register for the next semester
- are having academic difficulties
- don’t know where to find a student resource
